General Rules & Regulations of the Institute
  • Every student must on admission obtain an Identity Card which will be supplied from the Institute Office. The student must always carry the card with his/her photograph affixed on the same and present it for inspection when demanded. No student will be allowed to attend classes, practicals, demonstration and examinations without the identity card.
    All students are required to carry with them, in person, the Identity Card which they are bound to produce on demand by the
    • Watchman at the main gate to identify the student.
    • Cashier for identification at the time of payment.
    • Enquiry Clerk in the office for identification at the time of issuing any forms and handling any other inquiry regarding identification of the student.
    • Lecturers and instructors in all theory and practical classes.
  • Students must not attend classes other than their own.
  • Students must be present in the respective classrooms before the commencement of a lecture. All students must be in the college at 9.00 a.m. The first bell is meant for the students to collect their material and go to the classes. Before the second bell goes, all students must be in their respective classroom or else their presence will not be taken into consideration for the purpose of attendance.
  • Students are required to conform to the grooming standards of the institute such as appropriate clothing, correct uniforms, etc.
  • Students may be required to attend instruction, demonstration or function, outside their normal institute hour or outside institute premises.
  • The conduct of the students in their classes as well as on the premises of the institute shall be such as will cause the least disturbances to the fellow student or to other classes. The principal may expel a student whose work or conduct is not satisfactory and the entire fees paid shall be forfeited.
  • Students must not loiter around the institute premises while the classes are at work.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the institute premises.
  • Students shall do nothing either inside or outside the institute that will in any way interfere with its orderly administration and discipline.
  • No society shall be formed either in or outside the institute and no person invited to address a meeting without the Principal’ s previous permission.
  • In Institution debates and other meetings, the chair must be taken by a responsible person approved of by the Principal and the subject of debates must have the previous approval of the Principal.
  • No students should communicate any information to or write about matter dealing with the institute’s administration to the press.
  • Students are expected to take proper care of the institute property and to help in keeping the premises neat and tidy. Any damage done to the property of the institute by disfiguring walls, door fitting or breaking furniture etc.,is a breach of discipline and those responsible will be duly punished.
  • If for any reason, the continuance of a student in the institute is in the opinion of the Principal, detrimental to the best interests of the institute, the Principal may ask such a student to leave the institute without giving any reason for his/her conduct and his decision shall be final and binding on the student. The institution is not responsible for any injury / mishap / accident during classroom studies / practical classes / outdoor training assignments or Industrial Orientation Programme.
  • Students receiving Government institute scholarships or free studentships if any, are granted the same on the following condition:
    • That the students are regular in attendance.
    • That their conduct and progress are satisfactory.
  • Students when free must not loiter around on the institute premises. The allotment of the Hotel to the student for the Industrial Orientation Training & Industrial Orientation Programme is at the discretion of the institution and depending upon the placement available. Institute Management will not be responsible for any accident or damages during the Industrial Training period outside the institute premises.
  • Any property of the institute damaged due to negligence by a student or students will have to be replaced or paid for by them. Sitting on the parapet walls is strictly forbidden.
  • Matters not covered by the existing rules will rest at the absolute discretion of the Principal.
  • Non-compliance with the rules of the institute can also be dealt with by means of suitable fines and appropriate disciplinary action.
  • The medium of instruction and examination is in English.
  • Attendance :
    • Normal classes start at 9.00 am. and if a student is absent at the beginning or in between the normal working hours (theory or practical) he/she will be marked absent for the whole day.
    • Student must attend theory classes, practicals and tutorials of the institute and must visit catering establishments and take part in Indoor and Outdoor Training Assignment arranged by the institute. Students must not absent themselves for any institutional curricular and extra curricular activities without the previous permission of the Principal. Such absence without leave may lead to loss of term, since to keep a term a student has to comply to the satisfaction of the Principal, the course of study prescribed for the class to which the student belongs.
    • Each student is required to complete 75% attendance of the total working days during the same academic year failing which he/she will be disqualified from appearing for the examination. They should obtain 75% attendance in each subject (theory and practical).
    • Student should be regular and punctual in attendance in classes, laboratories, practical, tutorials and in submission of term-work in the various subject. Terms, may not be granted and students may not be certified for the Final Examination if his/her progress including the performance of the mid year examinations, regularity, conduct and attendance are not satisfactory.
    • Absence without leave is considered a breach of discipline. Leave without permission is liable to fines. No leave will be granted without previous written applications except in case of illness or emergency. Prior permission must be obtained for all other leave from the Principal or Head of the Department who will consider the application on individual merits.
    • Absence due to ill health should be notified as soon as possible and a doctors note produced on return to the institute.
    • No student can leave the institute premises during the working hours without a written pass from the principal or head of the department. This is applicable only in emergency, or illness. In case of other absenteeism prior written application must be made to the Principal. This will be considered on merit and permission granted or otherwise breach of this rule is liable to suspension.
  • The Authorities of the institute reserve the right tor change or modify the syllabus, prospectus, rules and fees whenever necessary and the same shall be binding on all students.
  • Students absence, wholly or partly at any of the institutes examination (whatever may be the reason) must insist for a Supplementary Examination before they continue attending classes. Those failing to do say are warned that they will not be allowed to sit for the Final Examination. The authorities have the right to reject any medical certificate that may be presented by a student to justify his absence from any test or examination.
